The World Traveler Program is an exciting opportunity to travel within Europe for 6 weeks while exploring the different healthcare systems and medical practices in three different countries. While the Atlantis program structure is the same in each country, program participants get the chance to see the life of a doctor in a local hospital in Portugal, Lithuania, and Greece.
Lisbon, the largest city and capital of Portugal, is a prominent European port city that is culturally diverse, historical, and renown for its beautiful cityscapes. The hospital experience continues this vein with diverse specialties and exposure.
Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, features both a youthful booming business district and a charming Old Town (one must-see is the cheesy American-themed restaurant), all within easy walking distance of each other–no surprise that this city is a popular and affordable tourist site for university students from all over Europe! At 800 beds the hospital offers a well-rounded shadowing experience.
Larissa is a city where ancient history and a long tradition in agriculture meet the modern way of living, this overlap can be observed in the centrally located private hospital which boasts many departments.
Program spots are limited, so be sure to ask your Admissions Coordinator if you’re interested in our World Traveler Program!
